29 March

Back to Spain! It is the combination of the food, the language , the beautiful landscape and the people; so excited to be back here. As we crossed the ferry saying goodbye to Morocco and resting after on a quiet beach in Algecires I can't stop but reflecting how different life is across this ocean. It is only 1.5 hours crossing but a lifetime of difference!

12 March to 29 March

We got reunited! Home, husband and wife ha ha ha.

After a full month were Hector flew to Argentina to see his mum and I flew to London to be with Jan and Edu we are finally back to our "normal life".

We met in Agadir, I had been waiting for Hecti for 2 weeks. Agadir is easy to be, easy to be around and the sunshine (after a torrid weather in London) is a great welcome.

Continue up north on the cost, first stop Imesouane, a surfer hippie beach. Only 2 blocks by 2 blocks, a few coffee shops and corner store. The view is spectacular; it is very windy and the water is cold but the furiousness of the waves and the mountains engulfing the sea makes it as ideal place to relax. Sidi Kaouki is next, a very long beach in a desolated place. We got fresh bread delivery to our home by a berbere in a donkey!

I am greatly surprise with the cost. The drive is so beautiful, plenty of cliffs and a furious ocean. There are so many long beaches and crops land along the way. I still find amusing the sheep and the cows on the beach!

Essaouira was a bit disappointing, just because everybody talks so highly of the place and because we are having many raining days. It has a great promenade and the medina just in the corner surrounded by high walls and again a feel of more "western".

El Jadida did have a different twist. Is called the Portuguese city. The medina is on the water and there are remains of an old castle and even the houses have a different colour rather than brick!

We found an amazing place to sleep, we just deviated from the road and went down and down from the cliff until we found a parking lot. That night the ocean was so loud that I couldn't sleep very well afraid that the tide will come and engulf us!

A run and a cool swim in the morning and sleeping once again in the beach, that was Larache.

It felt like Mar del Plata but for the palms across the boulevard, tall buildings, a casino...such a busy city and a modern one. That is Tangier. They are building a huge port and there are so many new developments...

We have been in Morocco for almost 2 months. We even have a few weeks in between when we left; however I have to say that at this point I am feeling saturated. We have travelled so extensively in this country, from cost to desert to dunes and mountains and forest and we are grateful for what this country has given us. Morocco have been very good to us, we felt completely safe and we truly enjoyed our time here but ......I can't wait to cross back to Europe and discover Portugal!
